The exciting part of buying a home is searching the Web and going to see the homes you chose. The anxious part of buying is trying to decide just how much home to buy.
Early in the home search process you should contact a lender of your choice to see just what your buying power is. Once you provide your Lender with all the paperwork necessary to evaluate your financial situation, they may issue a "pre-approval letter." (Regardless of how much home the pre-approval states you can purchase, you must decide what dollar amount you are most comfortable.)
The "pre-approval" is very important because it is often requested when you make an offer.
I will go over a list of things to do when you decide to make an offer and your Lender will go over the various types of loans you may qualify for and the interest rates.
So there aren't any surprises . . . your Lender will also go over the closing costs (fees associated with the processing of the paperwork for the loan).
Again, interview the Lenders to see which one you feel most comfortable.
